A Duck a Day #8 Astro Dusty

. . . designed with the help of Ellie Harrison, a TV presenter best known from BBC's Countryfile series.

This Dusty's official name may be Astro Dusty however, as far as December and June are concerned, his name is Tim Peake Dusty - after the first British astronaut to travel to the International Space Station with the European Space Agency (ESA)!

A Duck A Day #6 Supergirl Dusty . . . .

. . . . by Nazia Mogra, presenter on CBBC's Newsround.

Supergirl Dusty is sited next to the Boat Safari jetty at WWT, which is a popular perch for another super-fast bird - the Kingfisher, who likes to perch on the mooring lines whilst watching out for fish.

A Duck A Day #5 Ziggy StarDusty

. . . designed by Chris Packham who, as well as being a well known Naturalist, Broadcaster and Photographer is also a WWT Vice President.

Chris Packham said, "As a massive fan of the late, great David Bowie I'm very proud of Ziggy StarDusty - he's a fine fellow".

A little tail-feather detail.

A young fan seeks an autograph from Ziggy!

According to the information board next to Ziggy, Red-crested Pochards have been comically known as punk rocker ducks at Arundel.

What do you think?

A Duck a Day #3 Sir Quackalot Dusty . . . .

. . . by Matthew Baynton of The Wrong Man's (with James Corden) and BBC's Horrible Histories fame.

December and June were thrilled to find a Dusty Duck designed by him, as they are great fans of Horrible Histories and also absolutely love the film Bill, (in which he plays Bill Shakespeare) based on William Shakespeare's 'lost years' and also featuring many of Matthew Bayntons' fellow Horrible Histories cast members.

At WWT Arundel Sir Quackalot is positioned standing guard over the World Wildfowl Feeding bay, an important duty indeed!

A Duck A Day #2 Hawaiian Dusty . . . .

. . . designed by Martin Hughes-Games, a presenter on the BBC's Springwatch series.

Hawaiian Dusty has been placed within the WWT Arundel's area housing the Nene (or Hawaiian) Geese, which were saved from extinction by Sir Peter Scott who founded the WWT.

I bet he can do a cool hula with those colourful tail feathers!

A Duck a Day #1 Springtime Dusty . . .

. . . by Michaela Strachan, presenter of the BBC's Springwatch

We went along to WWT Arundel this afternoon as June and December were very keen to begin spotting the Ducks on the Celebrity Dusty Duck Trail, which runs until 5th March.

All 15 of the ducks have been made for WWT by Aardman studios and 14 of them have been designed by celebrities.

I'll be sharing the rest over the next couple of weeks - hope you enjoy them as much as we have :)
